I had the opportunity to shoot a beautiful model/actress, Kytia, while I was in Venice Beach. These are a few of my personal favorites from the shoot.

Replace the tea with coffee and I give this two thumbs up!
In Nacho Libre fashion…”your favorite things to do are MY favorite things to do…all day.”
Hoodies. Good books. Grilled Cheese sandwiches. Steelers football.
Definitely COFFEE!

Imprinted is a girls weekend retreat organized by Lakewood Baptist. They wanted a custom owl logo (not using any stock) that felt vintage and fun. I’ve grown so fond of this little owl, now I think he just needs a name. :)

Beth Anne Hughes is a dear friend of mine who has recently started a fresh and fun new career in photography. She is a sweet girl full of hope and commitment and drive. I sent her questions to explore her interests and her specific photography pursuits to see where we should go with the logo design. Her answers were nothing less than inspiring. This sweet girl has such a passion for love and for making sure the health of her marriage is always her top priority. Her husband, Will, is a drummer who plays for a ton of people (including me!) and he’s AWESOME. Ok, so back to the logo process here…. Initially, I really wanted to feature her passion for the Lord and her marriage in the logo – so I tried to think of many icons and ideas that wouldn’t necessarily push just marriage but it was really difficult! I ended up designing a logo with a hand-drawn boxy church. We both loved it, but I still had some major hesitancies… the main one being that it just looked like it could have been an actual church or ministry logo. (thumbs down). So Beth Anne came up with some new ideas and decided she really wanted a bumble bee for her logo.
“I did some bee keeping in GA a few weeks ago and loved it then I read the book The Secret Life of Bees… those two things aren’t life changing or anything but they got me thinking. I like the symbol of a bee because all of my photography so far is outside (I love being outside) since I don’t have a studio, I like yellow, it seems like a friendly color and could work for lots of things, bees are hardworking and they produce something sweet! :) “
So there it was… the challenge was set. I loved the idea! Making a bee look cute was way harder than I anticipated, but we did it! Go to her website to check out her lovely pictures, and be sure to comment here to send some encouragement her way.
Beth Anne, welcome to the industry! : )

Thanks a million, Shelly! I absolutely love it and am so thankful for your patience while dealing with my craziness. You’re super skilled and I just love you!! Thanks friend!
This is a really cute logo! You did a wonderful job on it.
Came across this sweet couple’s love story and blog through a video company I loosely follow (Vinegar Hill). Their lives and love inspire me. So much so, that I knew I had to share it with all of you. Ian was apparently in a car accident in 2006 that involved some brain injuries. Larissa and Ian have a beautiful love story of perseverance and commitment – love wins. They recently got married and I included the short wedding video below — Be prepared to laugh, to cry, to rejoice, and to be overcome with the true love of the Father. Also those balloons that they release at the end are stellar! Can someone tell me what they are?
They document their sweet lives and story at www.prayforian.com . Ian and Larissa, I’ve gotten lost in the posts on your blog and reading about the beauty of your love and the reality of your struggles. I will be praying, new friends. Thank you for the authenticity of your love and the sweetness of the way you share your lives with everyone around you. Blessings on your marriage!
